DESCRIBING PEOPLE

Now, we are learning about descriptions: how to describe people's appearence in English. We are learning:
  1. Vocabulary: short, tall, thin, slim, fat, straight hair, curly hair, wavy hair, dark skin, dark hair, fair skin, beard, ponytail, moustache, blue eyes, brown hair, blonde hair, black hair, etc. 
  2. Verb TO BE (EX: I am tall, He isn't short. She is thin.)
  3. Verb TO HAVE (EX: I have wavy hair. She has got curly brown hair. He's got blue eyes. He hasn't got freckles)
  4. Genitivo Sajón: John's mother (la mare d'en John); Maria's pencil (el llapis de na Maria); 
  5. We have to be able to (haurem de poder): 
    1. Recognise this structures and vocabulary in readings
    2. Recognise this structures and vocabulary in listenings and 
    3. Write sentences to describe people.

ANIMALS


Hi everyone! Now the 3rd graders are learning about animals: some new animals and their body parts. We'll learn:

  1. Vocabulary: body parts and some new animals
  2. New verbs can, can not (can't), eat, fly, run, live, etc.
  3. Questions: Where does it live? What does it eat?
  4. We have to be able to: Read about animals, write an animal description, and recognise the vocabulary in a listening.

READING ACTIVITY: "AMAZING MAMMALS AND REPTILES" (6th May 2016)

Hi everyone!!! Here you are a reading text about mammals and reptiles. You can read it at home and answer the activities from the worksheet I gave you this morning.  I remind you that this is not a compulsory activity. It's just for those who wants to practice English at home, improve vocabulary and reading skils, etc. But I really encourage you to do so!!! It'll be good for you and it'll be useful for practice some words we learnt at classroom such as SOME, MOST, WARM BLOOD, DRINK, ETC.

Hola a tothom!! Aquí teniu el "reading" sobre mamífers i rèptils. Ho podeu llegir a casa i fer els exercicis de la fulla que us he donat avui de matí. Us recordo que aquesta activitat NO ÉS OBLIGATORIA. És només per aquells que tingueu ganes de practicar anglès a casa, aprendre més dels animals, aprendre més vocabulari o millorar la comprensió lectora amb anglès! Tot i que és voluntària i que no passaria res si no la fèssiu, US ANIM a que la fagueu! Ja hem fet una semblant a classe sobre mamífers i amb aquest podreu repassar paraules que vem veure com MOST, SOME, MAMMALS, DRINK, WARM BLOOD, ETC. ANIMS!

ACTIVITY: MY CLOCK.

MATERIAL:
Per fer el vostre rellotge necessitareu:
  1. Two cardboars or two papers.
  2. Scissors
  3. A black felt tip.
  4. 1 Fastener

Esta idea resulta realmente sencilla ya que se trata sólo de superponer dos platos  desechables,(o dues cartolines en el nostre cas) dibujar las agujas del reloj en cartulina y unirlas a los platos con un encuadernador de latón (Fastener). En el plato de arriba dibujamos las horas, y hacemos cortes entre cada número para poder levantar las horas y ver en el plato de abajo la cantidad de minutos que corresponden. Si los peques saben leer, podéis agregar otras indicaciones, como ‟y cuarto”, ‟y media”, etc.


En el nostre plat, noltros darrere posam els minuts que hem de dir. Per exemple: 
                                    Darrera del 1 posarem: 5 past
                                    Darrera del 2:  10 past 
                                    Darrera del 3:  a quarter past 
                                    Darrera del 4: 20 past
                                    Darrera del 5: 25 past
                                    Darrera del 6: hals past
                                    Darrera del 7:  25 to
                                    Darrera del 8:  20 to
                                    Darrera del 9: a quarter to.
